If you are looking to upgrade your hardware then please let us know what hardware you already have. If you don’t know how to do this then try downloading and running HWiNFO and tell us what the CPU and the memory size and the GPU is and the size of your PC (with which a photograph of the back could help) and the size and type of your SSD/HDD.
PC/Upgrade Requirements for Quote
Things that might be worth considering include, but are not necessarily limited to, the following. If you have any other requirements please mention them.
- Use – What will the computer be used for? Audio/video recording/editing/encoding? Television/radio? 3D gaming? Specific applications/games? (The more specific you can be, the better.) Just web browsing, communication and office tasks?
- Networking – Do you need Wi-Fi (wireless networking) or Ethernet (cable networking) or both?
- Noise – Do you especially value low fan noise? Is normal fan noise fine? Is high fan noise when the PC is under high stress okay? Keep in mind that if you are gaming you will probably have speakers or headphones going so this might not be much of an issue. Generally speaking the more powerful the video/graphics card and the CPU the more noise will be made when under stress.
- Portability, size & shape – Do you want something small? Thin? Would you like a PC to go under a monitor? Small tower? Medium tower? Do you want a big PC for maximum upgradeability?
- Storage capacity – How much storage capacity do you need? Would you like it in the form of NAS or internal storage?
- Audio input/output – Do you want Headphones? Headset (which is headphones with a microphone)? Webcam (which includes a microphone)? External speakers or speakers built in to the monitor? How important is audio quality? You can try a default audio source first then upgrade later if you want to.
- Software – Do you want Microsoft Office or a free alternative such as or LibreOffice or no office software? Any other specific software? Windows or a free alternative such as Ubuntu, or would you prefer to not have any software preinstalled?
- Budget – Do you have a specific budget?
- Special requests – Do you have any special requests?
