Symptoms of adware most commonly include advertisements appearing where they shouldn’t and web browser changes, especially with unwanted redirections and changes to the home page.

Symptoms of other malware (including viruses) include the computer running slowly, crashes, people receiving e-mail from you without you sending it, ransom messages, password changes you did not make, disabling of security software, and a slow Internet connection.

If you suspect your computer is infected then we recommend you turn it off and don’t use it to prevent further infection and let us scan it with our specialised software and remove any malicious software found.

Virus or other malicious software removal is charged at $80 per computer if you bring it to us. If you want us to come to you it is charged at $120 for the labour plus the call-out fee.
